Moody Center Adds Dr. James Spencer to Oversee Online Curriculum and Operations

The Moody Center is pleased to welcome Dr. James Spencer to our team. Dr. Spencer will serve as the Vice President of Moody Center Online, focusing primarily on building out curriculum, customer engagement and retention, and operations for the Moody Center Online platform. The platform will provide bi-vocational pastors and church leaders with an easy-to-use and innovative solution to their need for content to inform their ministry development in several areas.

James Spencer has a strong background in leading educational and academic teams in areas including instructional design, adjunct faculty training and management, curriculum development, and enrollment management.

 

He served as Vice President and Dean of Moody Distance Learning from 2012-2016 and as Vice President and Dean of Moody Bible Institute from 2016-2018.

 

In addition to his role at MBI, Spencer serves as an Associate Consultant with Ruffalo Noel-Levitz assisting institutions in areas related to online program development and improvement, communication and system audits, academic policy and procedure, and enrollment management.

 

He is active in publishing and research. His interests are primarily integration of theology with other disciplines, as well as examining the shift toward digital reading technologies and the implications for biblical and theological studies.

 

Spencer has been married to his high school sweetheart Kim since 1999. They have three children and currently live on the Northside of Chicago.
