Beverly (Bev) Davis is a leader in the Bed & Breakfast Industry. Bev and her husband Rick bought the Captain Lord Mansion in 1978 with the intension of turning it into a B&B. At that time, Inns were very popular in Europe but few Bed and Breakfasts were available in the US. Over the past 40 years many accolades have been bestowed on the Inn. Personal award of Masters of Innkeeping from NEIA, the Stafford Smith award from Select Registry are two that their peers awarded. Bev also was on the founding board of Select Registry and was instrumental in developing their criteria and standards. The Inn has held the coveted 4 diamond award for over 35 years and has been recognized by Conde Nast Traveler, Foders and Forbes Travel as one of the top Inns in the United States. One of Bev’s passions is equitation and she served on the board of Flying Changes a Riding therapeutic center. She is president and serves on the board of the Davis Family Foundation. Bev and her husband live in Kennebunkport, Maine and have two grown daughters.
