A Vision for the Moody Center

Join us as we honor the legacy of D.L. Moody by curating the Moody archives, developing a museum, and preserving the Northfield campus.

President’s Welcome Message

Welcome all friends, donors and partners of the Moody Center!

The Moody Center has experienced an exciting rebirth of sorts over the last several months. While we are still committed to preserving the legacy of D.L. Moody and honoring the culture and traditions that make Northfield special, the Moody Center is evolving.

An important part of our work is re-introducing D.L. Moody the man, as well as his innovative and entrepreneurial approach to ministry,

to this 21st century body of believers. Our mission is clear: to continue the work of D.L. Moody in creative evangelism and discipleship. D.L. Moody valued education and learning, especially about the Gospel. I’ll share more on how the Moody Center will honor his commitment to growth and continuous learning in this new phase. Here at the Moody Center we are excited to move into a new realm of ministry!

The Moody Center Online

The Moody Center provides a platform for ministry leaders to learn together and advance the Gospel in bold new ways. We are working to equip ministry leaders to reach more people for God’s kingdom through the utilization of our online resources. The Moody Center has launched an engaging and easy-to-use platform of courses authored by well-known subject matter experts on various topics. The online coursework consists of short 7-module courses designed to better equip pastors and lay church leaders to preach, teach, counsel and execute the “business” of ministry. Please stay tuned as the Moody Center continues to develop and make available new courses quarterly focused on meeting the needs of bi-vocational pastors and church leaders.

Our Vision

Moody Center at Northfield

The master plan for a staged revitalization of the Moody Center at Northfield is a dream come true for many local residents. The Moody Center takes great pride in being entrusted with the estate of D.L. Moody and the Northfield campus. The plans for re-vitalization are not to erase the rich history of this estate, but to preserve it while bringing the estate into the 21st century.

The Moody Center plans to introduce a new lodge and conference center, the D.L. Moody Museum, a state-of-the-art RV and outdoor recreation space, as well as an active living community of homes. We are still finalizing designs and early models. However, we can’t wait to allow the Northfield residents and guests to enjoy the fruits of our labor! I desire the Moody Center to be the epicenter of ministry education, innovation, recreation and a retreat for body and spirit.

It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Moody Center. I look forward to sharing more about these projects as they develop. Thank you for being a friend of the Moody Center and we ask for your continued prayers as we forge ahead. —Emmitt Mitchell, Moody Center President
